Travel with Teddy Roosevelt’s Great White Fleet 

Travel with Teddy Roosevelt’s Great White Fleet of sixteen battleships as they cruised around the world, the first fleet to do so. This documented event is only a couple of paragraphs in most history books. Students will learn about the battleships, the reason for the cruise, the political climate, the animals aboard, the entertainment at each port and aboard ship, and the unexpected mishaps. This is a lecture course that will highlight over 200 colored postcards printed during the cruise. No prior knowledge is required, just a love of history and a desire to learn something new.
